Children everywhere need to have a safe, social place to gather and play. The Alexander Valley Rabbit Project in conjunction with Healdsburg Community Church is reaching out globally to the youth of Tuis, Costa Rica. We will be purchasing, building and donating a community playground, the Voz Que Clama Community Playground, as well educating our local youth and community on becoming better global citizens.
How will 4-H help?
While working with the Voz Que Clama project with Healdsburg Community Church we were asked to think of fundraising possibilities. As many of our team members are in the Alexander Valley Rabbit project we brought forth the idea of using our rabbit project to help fundraise for the trip and integrating both the agricultural science with the fertilizer program through the California Weights and Measures Department, and working with Farmers Markets. We will speak to the elementary, middle and high schools in our area as well as the Boys and Girls Clubs, taking a common concept of a playground broadening their view of a local project that meets a global need.
