Redwood Empire Foster Care Association Community Project

The Issue

We have a foster family as members of our 4-H club and we all felt that our project would help us to learn more about how the foster care program works.

How will 4-H help?

Our main Community Service Project is to help and support the Redwood Empire Foster Parents Association.  We are collecting and planning on purchasing  and having items donated to fill the “Blue Bags.”  These Blue Bags are distributed to all foster children 6 years and younger that are brought into the emergency foster care program. These bags contain the basic essential needs for the children, such as socks, underwear, pajamas, a book and a toy or stuffed animal. The goal is to fill 50 Blue Bags or more, if possible. Some items will be donated and collected by the club and some items will to be purchased to complete the Bags. We will also be helping the Association with other events such as their Easter Egg Hunt, the rejuvi-Night and also walking as a group in the Human Race.
