Quincy Star Follies

The Quincy Star Follies will provided an opportunity for 4H youth and others in Plumas County to help organize and partake in a mega musical with dancing and singing as a fund raiser for the Feather River College Foundation for students.

What has 4-H done?

The Quincy Star Follies is a dancing and singing show/fundraiser including kids and adults from all different ages, cultures and professions. Everyone works under the supervision of a professional choreographer and through commitment and team building, an exciting and fun show is put together in a month's time of hard work, laughter and group support. 4-H Youth were involved in a variety of numbers in the show. They designed their own costumes, organized their rehearsals, supported each other’s efforts and met with leaders and members of the community during meetings, prep, practices and SHOWTIME! The event is enjoyed by hundreds of people in our local community and supports schools and the arts.

The Impact

The sense of camaraderie, the cross cultural bonding and effort to work together and communicate, the creativity, challenges, recordings and rehearsals, all brought to fruition a fun and exciting event that raised thousands of dollars for the Feather River College Foundation for Students. It also taught the youth involved many life skills, leadership skills, responsibility and unity.
