When a family is experiencing stress, attention is focused on just the basics and less on the extra activities. We as 4‐Hers who raise animals have the opportunity to spend a lot of time with a variety of animals. We want to share this experience with the Kare Center children. Giving them a fun, educational activity that will lighten their otherwise stressful lives.
How will 4-H help?
We will be putting on a Farm Day for kids who have benefitted from the Kare Crisis Nursery. Kare Crisis Nursery is a non‐profit agency that provides a safe and nurturing care center for young kids to go when their family is experiencing a family crisis. Our farm day will provide an opportunity for the children of these families to have a fun day playing with and learning about farm animals, as well as give them a respite from their busy stressful lives.
The goal of our project is to give kids a chance to have an up close experience with farm animas. We will teach kids the safety around and care of farm animals in an up close, experiential way. We want the kids to have fun while learning about what goes on around a farm. A secondary goal of our project is to provide the Kare Center and the children who go there with a Kare package of essential items that they would need when they are temporarily staying at the Center. This would include essentials such as toothpaste and toothbrush and also a comfort item to help make the experience easier.
