Corning 4‐H | Tehama County Status: In Progress Categories: Citizenship, Physical Activity and Exercise, Social and Emotional Health Youth Leader: Kaitlyn | Age: 16

The Issue

Today’s health issues stem from lack of Healthy lifestyles. The cause of the major health issues of today include obesity, heart health and general well-being. By creating an outdoor gym and exercise experience for all ages, free of charge, and available at any time of the day, our 4‐H club can help to promote  healthy living and help to benefit of our community.

How will 4-H help?

Upon hearing a presentation at our 4‐H club meeting about the new state of the art park about to break ground in our community our 4‐H community service group wanted to be a part of this exciting addition to our community. The park plan included a ½ mile trail, but included no funds for outdoor exercise equipment. In hearing the success of other parks with exercise equipment stations, our group wants to bring that extra benefit to our new park and give our community the opportunity to live a healthier lifestyle. Corning 4‐H will promote healthy lifestyle opportunities at the new state of art Corning   Community Park with 4‐6 outdoor exercise equipment stations along a 1/2 mile walking and jogging trail. We will give the community, neighbors, families and friends of all ages the opportunity to enjoy healthy activities and events, by exercising in a natural and fresh air environment. Everyone will have the opportunity to exercise in an outdoor gym free with no memberships, open 24/7. These exercise stations will provide extra benefits of conditioning, stretching, and muscle building,
